Tanning Tips for home

So many clients and friends ask me about spray tans. After such a long winter and with the first sign of sun we all start to realise a little colour would wipe away the winter blues. Most think it can look good initially but wont last long and can be expensive to keep up. This can be true but for that special occasion I believe its a reasonable amount to pay for such a natural, all over tan and in the space of 20 minutes. So how do we keep a tan without sitting under a sunlamp or continually paying out on a weekly basis to stand in a spray tan booth? The answer is simple, fake it at home! There are so many self tanning creams and lotions available it can be difficult to know which one will work for you. St Tropez and Fake Bake have stolen the market with a range of products to suit everyone but without a price tag to do the same. I have recently heard from a number of girls that have tried a much cheaper alternative and have had fantastic results, which one is it? Solait self tanning cream, available from Super Drug Stores, the creams are available in light, medium and dark tan to suit all skin tones and the results are an even and natural tan with the added bonus of a moisturiser! what more can you ask for? Why not even try the tanning mousse, this too gives an excellent result but must be applied with a tanning mitt, just be careful to shower it off before you go to bed to avoid staining your sheets and keep away from the general public or people you might want to impress before you have had that shower, it has a unique smell that you probably would not choose to purchase from a perfume counter. No excuses!

Clips, Bonds and Weaves

With so many types of hair extensions to choose from it is difficult to know what is best suited to your hair type and lifestyle. The weave method has become very popular over the last year as its believed this is the most natural method, without using glues and heat tools and therefore causing minimal damage if any, this is in fact a misconception, the weave method was traditionally used for Afro/Caribbean hair types as this type of hair tends to be course and will hold a plait easily. The hair is first plaited tightly and then wefts of hair are then stitched into the rows, this can cause discomfort especially when they are first applied until the natural hair has had time to drop and relax.

Deposit or 'Down' Payment

Hi All, I received a phone call from a client in Woolston asking me me why I have never required a deposit prior to an appointment for hair extensions. My answer was simple, would you pay for anything you have not seen, know its origin, or have any idea of the quality? clearly not! The answer is simple, any reputable hair technician should always have a good selection of hair colours and shades to suit most needs but of course with exception to some unique colours or lengths. I was surprised to hear that more recently deposits are required and people are paying for a product and service they have not seen.  Girls be warned, unless you have seen and sampled the hair you may not be getting what you think you have paid for. These days hair extensions are one of the most popular trends, with so many different hair extension suppliers trading on the web selling different grades and types of hair, unless you know your supplier and the type of hair being purchased and for the correct application you may be disappointed. However, there are a great deal of genuine hair technicians and hair suppliers that offer an excellent service and product so its always worth while to research before you part with any cash.

Change your hair style daily

Straight hair can be sleek but why not dramatically change your look! just mix a small amount of hair serum together with a good mousse to your damp hair to achieve sexy and natural curls without the aid of any heating tools and saving you time.

Keep your skin soft and smooth all year through

Immediately after showering or bathing, rub a small amount of baby oil all over your wet skin before dabbing dry with a towel. This will help keep the moisture in your skin and leave it feeling silky smooth.

Don't let your hair hold you back

When swimming always tie up hair and protect with good layer of conditioner before entering the pool. This will help prevent damage by salt and clorine and keep your hair free from frizz.
